Füssen, the birth place of the european sound and creation of violins
The history of the Füssen tones and construction of violins is at the same time history of the work immigration. Hundreds emigrated in the 16th and 17th century to establish ithemselves in the european culture metropol trade , opening workshops so that they could use their craftmanship proffessionally in princely homes and in trading centers in big towns. In the 16th and 17th century approximately two thirds of all lute makers in Venedig and Padua were descendants from Füssen. Also in Rome and Naples the musical instruments were made from the Allgäuer. One german master after the other lived then in the “Via dei Leutari” in Rome.
In this meaningful history of the building or construction of musical instruments unites the “festival vielsaitig” at the same time inspiring the varied wonderful nature of the Füssen countryside.
