Füssen is an internationally known holiday and spa resort at the transposition point of the "Romantic road" with the "German Alpine road" and is an ideal starting point for a variety of activities. The town at the foot of the Alps is framed by imposing high mountain peaks, gentle Allgäu hills and more than ten lakes - the king’s region is regarded as one of the most beautiful Bavarian tourist regions!
Füssen consists of the local areas Füssen, Bad Faulenbach, Hopfen am See and Weißensee.

Füssen - one of the oldest cultural towns in Europe - and at the same time a modern and a world-open city, which has to offer far more than "only" the fairy tale castles of the King Ludwig epoch.
The cradle of the European lutes & violin manufacturing
Füssen is regarded as the cradle of the European lutes and violin manufacturing. Hundreds of masters from the Füssener region emigrated to the European cultural centres and founded workshops there. The significance of Füssen for western history of music gets alive in the tour by the museum of the city of Füssen.
