Festival house on the lakeside of the Forggensee
The Festival House is situated by the lakeside on Forggensee
The theatre was built as a musical theatre “Neuschwanstein” between 1998 and 2000.
On the 7th April was the premier “Ludwig 11, longing for paradise”.
Until the end of 2003 with over 1500 performances of this first Ludwig musical over 1,5 million people visited the theatre.
In March 2005, the theatre Neuschwanstein presented a second german musical in the Festival
house over Ludwig II from Bavaria under the title “Ludwig II”.
The music was composed by the Austrian composer Konstantin Wecker,
Christopher Franke and Nic Rain, the texts were written by Rolf Rettberg.
The scenery designed by Michael Curry. This musical ended in January 2007.
Unique Atmosphere
A clearing was made especially for the theatre directly at the Forggensee lakeside. One can see the Neuschwanstein castle over on the other side from the terrace of the theatre.
